Pacific Press® releases four new "magabook" titles

Nampa, Idaho (June 4, 2002 ) – Pacific Press announces four new magabook titles along with ASI’s new edition of The Great Controversy this week, according to Pacific Press’s marketing and editorial department vice presidents.

What is a “magabook”? A magabook is a paperback book that has the large trim size of a magazine. These large-format books are used in student Literature Evangelist programs of door-to-door selling during the summer months. Pacific Press has released four new titles for this summer’s program—three in English and one in Spanish:

  • A Taste of Health: Everyday Gourmet Recipes, by Barbara Kerr. This colorful 144-page vegetarian cookbook is filled with tasty recipes and attractive colored illustrations.
  • The Final Crisis, by Marvin Moore. An in-depth examination of what the Bible says about the end times and the future of God’s people. 112 pages.
  • The Great Controversy: The Global War on Freedom, by Ellen G. White. A reprint of the timeless classic on the continuing struggle between good and evil, God and Satan. The cover depicts a patriotic theme. 272 pages.
  • Las Respuestas de Dios a sus Preguntas (God’s Answers to Your Questions). This reference guide in question-and-answer format deals with what the Bible says about such topics as sin, suffering, death, the new birth, the Sabbath, Jesus’ coming, and many more. The answers come straight from the Bible with some accompanying comments. 112 pages.
  • These magabooks are available in Adventist Book Centers as well as being sold door-to-door to the public.

In addition to these new magabook titles, Pacific Press has just released The Great Controversy in a smaller paperback Happiness Digest edition. With a colorful new cover and improved design and layout, this will be an inexpensive and popular edition of this classic work by Ellen White. Other Ellen White volumes are planned for release in this Happiness Digest series in coming months. Available in Adventist Book Centers or on the web at www.AdventistBookCenter.com
