Ken Pline Named New VP for Finance


Nampa, Idaho (August 16, 2012) — Pacific Press® has named Ken Pline the new vice president for finance. The announcement was made today, following a meeting of the Press board, by board chairman, Elder Lowell Cooper. Pline will replace Don Upson, Snr. who retires October 1, after serving the denomination for 40 years, the last four-and-a-half years at Pacific Press®.

Pline began at Pacific Press® in 1997 as a financial analyst and since 2001 has worked as controller and assistant vice president for finance. He is a graduate of Walla Walla University with a degree in Business Administration.

Elder Cooper stated that the choice was "a unanimous board decision and we appreciate Ken's commitment to God, to the Church and to the mission of Pacific Press®."

Don Upson said, "I am pleased that the board has selected Ken Pline as the new VP for finance. Ken has demonstrated excellent technical skills and has a unique situation of knowing the history of Pacific Press® because he has worked here for many years."

Board member Ann Gibson, stated "I have known Ken since college and have enjoyed watching him develop his talents and expertise in the area of accounting and management. I have no doubt he is the right person for this position."

Pline's official title is chief financial officer, vice president for finance, and corporate secretary treasurer. He will assume his new duties on September 10.
