EL CENTINELA® Announces Major Redesign

Nampa, Idaho (November 8, 2010) — EL CENTINELA® magazine, the Spanish-language sister publication of Signs of the Times®, will soon undergo a major redesign. Beginning January 2011, the magazine will double its page count to 32, and slightly reduce its trim size. Pacific Press® has been publishing EL CENTINELA® ("The Sentinel") continuously since January 1919 as a tool for sharing the news of salvation with Spanish-speaking persons. It is used by almost 80 percent of Hispanic church members who witness on a regular basis. The increased page count will allow for the inclusion of several new columns including women's issues and a youth feature in English.

Ernest Castillo, general vice president of the North American Division says, "EL CENTINELA® has been such a blessing to our church for so many years. It has played an instrumental role in thousands of baptisms and we eagerly anticipate an even greater usefulness for the redesigned magazine."

EL CENTINELA® editor Miguel Valdivia comments, "Pacific Press® is committed to serving the world church by producing materials that strengthen and provide growth for members and prospective members. We are making the new edition of the magazine a little more visual. We want to attract the attention of people who are part of a visually rich media culture in order to draw them into a serious consideration of God's saving truth."

EL CENTINELA® is available at any Adventist Book Center®, or by calling (800)765-6955. It can be ordered online at PacificPress.com or ElCentinela.com is currently unable to fulfill orders placed outside of the United States and its territories.
