Prominent Adventist Evangelists Write Book Together to Help Americans
Understand the Real Meaning of the Ten Commandments

Nampa, Idaho (March 29, 2006) - As the date for the first-ever Ten Commandments Day, May 7, nears, many Christians are preparing to show their support through public demonstrations, church events, literature distribution, and even the wearing of a Ten Commandments pin. Meanwhile, Adventists see this as an opportunity to demonstrate that the Ten Commandments are a reflection of God's perfect, loving character, and that all of the Commandments are still relevant and applicable today.

Twelve prominent Adventist evangelists, including Doug Batchelor, Dwight Nelson, Lonnie Melashenko, Ty Gibson, Shelley Quinn, and Mike Tucker, have joined together with Pacific Press® to publish The Ten Commandments Under Attack, a small, inexpensive book to share with non-Adventists.

"With moral values crumbling all around us, maybe it is time we take another look at God's law. Maybe instead of debating whether the Ten Commandments should remain in a courthouse we need to ask if these moral principles are written on our own hearts. Maybe it's time for a lot less arguing about the law and a lot more keeping of the law," says Mark Finley, who wrote the forward for the book. Finley is the global evangelism director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and vice president for the General Conference.

With a theme and a cover that remind people of the controversy going on in city halls and courthouses around the country today, The Ten Commandments Under Attack is the perfect tool to share with friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers. This 80-page, pocket-sized book, which includes an offer for free Bible study guides, is a message of hope and promise to Americans, church and non-churched alike, through the Ten Commandments. It shares a Christ-centered message of what each commandment means and how meaningful each one remains today.

The Ten Commandments Under Attack will be available beginning April 15. Pricing starts at $1.99 for individual copies and goes as low as $.79 each when ordering quantities of 500 or more. To place an order, call toll-free at (800) 765-6955 or order online at www.AdventistBookCenter.com.
